Joëlle specialises in Competition & European Union Law as well as in Technology, Media and Communications Law, both advising and litigating.

She counsels and assists undertakings active in a broad range of industries in respect of the implication on their business activities of the Belgian and EU competition rules (abuse of dominant position, cartels, damages claims, merger control, etc.). In these areas Joëlle handles cases before the European and national courts and administrative authorities. Since 2010 she has notably gained experience in the following sectors: media and communications, pharmaceuticals, retail, banking and insurance.

Joëlle also deals with regulatory files involving the national regulatory authorities in charge of electronic communications and the operators active in Belgium.

Joëlle joined the Brussels Bar in 2010. Prior to joining CMS, Joëlle started her professional career at international law firm Olswang.

She holds a Master in Law from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) (2008), and a LL.M in European Law from the Katholieke universiteit Leuven (KUL) (2009).

Joëlle also coordinates the competition law and sector-specific regulation section of the Revue de droit commercial belge / Tijdschrift voor belgisch handelsrecht (RDC/TBH) since 2019 and publishes articles in her areas of expertise.

She is fluent in French and English, and proficient in Dutch.

Joëlle joined CMS in April 2017.
