José Luís Arnaut is the Managing Partner at CMS Portugal and heads the TMC – Technology, Media and Communications, Intellectual Property as well as Life Sciences and Healthcare teams.  

He has extensive experience providing strategic advice to  public and private companies

José Luís Arnaut is a highly regarded intellectual property lawyer, with a special focus on patents, trademarks, domain names and new technologies.

He is a European Patent Attorney at the European Patent Office (EPO); European Trademark Attorney at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), as well as an Industrial Property Official Agent at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).

José Luís is acknowledged as Eminent Practitioner for Intellectual Property, by Chambers Europe and has been ranked for the past 16 years. He is also acknowledged as Leading Individual in the Hall of Fame for Intellectual Property and he is recommended for TMT, by Legal 500, 2023. Moreover, he was awarded Best Practice - Outstanding Achievement Award, by Iberian Lawyer, in 2021 and Trade mark and Transactions star 2023, by IP Stars.
