Cross-border CMS team advises Dover Corporation on acquisition of Swiss Maag Group

14/02/2012

Zurich - CMS has successfully advised longstanding client Dover Corporation on its acquisition of the Maag Group (“Maag”). The deal is subject to competition clearance and is expected to complete within 30 days.

Maag, which is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, will be part of Downers Grove, Illinois based Pump Solutions Group (PSG®) within the Fluid Solutions platform of Dover's Engineered Systems segment.

Corporate partner Stefan Brunnschweiler led the transaction team with support of an interdisciplinary team of CMS lawyers (listed below) from Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, France, Brazil, China, Russia, Ukraine and Morocco. Further law firms (primarily of the World Law Group) in the US, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Canada, Indonesia, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and South Korea advised Dover Corporation on all aspects of the acquisition of Maag Group.

“The transaction was particularly challenging since more than 20 jurisdictions were involved and had to be coordinated. This transaction is a perfect example on how well the CMS network and the World Law Group work together”, said Stefan Brunnschweiler, lead partner at CMS von Erlach Henrici.
