12 May 2021

International law firm CMS is pleased to announce the appointment of Wladek Rzycki as a partner in its Infrastructure and Projects Group. Wladek is based in the firm’s Warsaw office and will focus on the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region and Poland.

Wladek has extensive experience representing leading aerospace defence, industrial and infrastructure clients with regard to offsets, industrial programmes, technology transfers, defence and civil procurement, export control, policy advice and strategic acquisitions. Throughout his career, he has worked in both Poland and the USA at several major U.S. law firms. He is experienced at leading large multi-jurisdictional legal teams, strategic negotiations, solving complex regulatory and compliance challenges, and preparing regulatory filings in multiple jurisdictions.

Dóra Petrányi, CMS partner and CEE Managing Director, says: “We are pleased to welcome Wladek to CMS. Thanks to his specialist knowledge, Wladek is well-positioned to support global clients involved in state procurement projects across the region. We look forward to working with him as we continue to strengthen and broaden our offering across Central and Eastern Europe.”

Commenting on his move, Wladek says: “I am delighted to join CMS. The firm has a very strong reputation in CEE. I am excited about the opportunities that my appointment will deliver for clients and developing CMS’s CEE practice in my areas of expertise. We are hoping to cover the existing market gap in the scope of coverage provided by law firms in the region.”

Wladek is rated as ‘Highly regarded’ by ILFR1000 for M&A and Private Equity and has previously been ranked in The Legal 500 in two categories: Projects, Energy & Natural Resources and Corporate and M&A. He is also a frequent speaker at the Global Industrial Cooperation Association, a forum for the exchange of information regarding countertrade and offset requirements and techniques used in various countries.
