CMS advises AW Rostamani on majority stake acquisition in major UK car retailer

CMS has advised UAE-based conglomerate AW Rostamani on its acquisition of a majority stake in UK car retailer Brayleys.

With annual revenues in excess of $2 billion and a heritage of over 50 years, AW Rostamani operates in multiple industry sectors in the UAE. Its flagship subsidiary, Arabian Automobiles Co is the exclusive distributor for Nissan, Infiniti, and Renault in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, operating 21 showrooms and 16 service centres. This acquisition marks AW Rostamani’s first investment in the UK motor sector as it seeks to expand its global footprint. Brayleys is the franchise holder for Honda, Kia, Mazda, and Renault/Dacia.

The cross-jurisdictional CMS team, led out of Dubai and supported by a UK team, was led by John O'Connor, Co-Managing Partner of CMS Dubai.
