CMS in Austria excels in employment law: exclusive top spot in the JUVE ranking

10/08/2018

According to the recently published JUVE ranking, CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz is “the leading practice in employment law which receives more recognition than any other from competitors and clients”. This makes CMS the undisputed Number 1 in the employment law market for industry expert JUVE.

The rankings drawn up by industry magazine JUVE, which are based on around 2,200 conversations and written interviews conducted with lawyers, authorities and clients in the past 12 months, attest to a host of competitive advantages and the top position, up there all on its own, for the employment law section at CMS in Vienna run by Bernhard Hainz and Christoph Wolf.

“As one of the leading law firms in the field of employment law for many years, we not only bring experience and know-how but above all also the quality of being able to respond very fast to new aspects of employment law, as we are always one of the first to provide sound advice and, thanks to our strong relationship with academia, able to help shape opinion,” CMS Partner Bernhard Hainz is pleased about this top placement.

CMS partner Christoph Wolf, only recently appointed Professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna, adds: “Particularly because employment law is such a dynamic matter, what clients appreciate about us is that we are here for even the most difficult questions and also for highly unusual issues of employment law. In other words, we are able to help even where no in-house solution can be found.”

Very highly rated

JUVE justifies the excellent rating for CMS with the highest level of expertise in all areas. For example, the firm offers comprehensive advice on employment law in relation to restructuring and reorganisation measures, but also, in many cases, for complex projects, special issues or policy decisions, where clients are represented in proceedings all the way up to ECJ level. Special expertise in pension and data protection law, in management consulting and in transaction support completes the package.

This comprehensive package of experience, know-how and speed of response is one of the main reasons why CMS is also held in high regard by other industry observers. Chambers Europe, for example, has been citing CMS Austria as the best law firm in employment law for the last seven years in a row.

Very broad base

CMS also scores with its unique employment law team. Thanks to its 11-member employment law team, making it the largest one in Austria, several major mandates can be managed at the same time without any problem. Added to its local strength, CMS also boasts an international presence and the opportunity for cross-border support. The Austrian employment law team is part of the global CMS Employment Group, which has more than 400 members from 42 jurisdictions and is also regularly ranked at the top in other countries (e.g. Germany, France and Poland, etc.).
