Chambers Ranks CMS First in “Construction”
Like every year, Chambers & Partners has taken a close look at top attorneys and premium law firms. Apart from its international awards, individual country awards are especially important. In Austria, CMS is the only law firm to rank in the highest category (Band 1) of the newly introduced practice area “Construction”.
This year for the first time, the Chambers Europe Guide includes the practice area “Construction”, in which CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz was able to gain a foothold thanks to profound industry expertise and years of experience advising construction companies, various contracting parties and other project stakeholders, especially in the hotel sector. Chambers referred to the eight-person CMS team led by Nikolaus Weselik as absolutely leading in construction law. Nikolaus Weselik, partner at CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz and head of the Real Estate and Construction team, has also been named “leading individual”.
“We are delighted that construction law earned its own category in 2014, not least because we have been advising our clients in this area for many years in a successful and sustainable manner”, says Weselik. Together with his team, the expert on construction law currently advises clients in projects such as the Semmering base tunnel, the Vienna International Airport, the renovation of the parliament building or the Vienna North Hospital.
Moreover, it is for the third time already that CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz figures in the highest category of the international ranking of law firms and lawyers in the practice area “Public Procurement/PPP”. At CMS Austria, this practice area is headed by Bernt Elsner and comprises six legal experts. The fact that these two practice areas have joined ranks at CMS years ago in order to provide clients with a one-stop shop for legal advice seems to have paid off!
