Lifesciences Expert Gabriela Staber Appointed Partner at CMS

Gabriela Staber is admitted to the bar in Austria, New York and Massachusetts and a renowned expert in the field of lifesciences: At the beginning of this year, Gabriela Staber, who has been with the firm since 2003 with an interruption of several years to practise in the US, was appointed partner at CMS in Vienna. She will continue to strengthen the lifesciences practice of CMS.

Lower Austria native Gabriela Staber studied law in Vienna, after which she completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in European Law in London and an internship at the European Commission in Brussels. In 2003, she joined CMS in Vienna as an associate, where she spent overall five years – the last two as an attorney-at-law – working in the fields of intellectual property, competition and media law as well as lifesciences. 

After that, she completed another Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a specialisation in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law in Boston (US), where she also worked for several notable law firms from 2009, including a renowned firm focused on lifesciences. In addition to her bar admission in Austria, she is also admitted to the bar in the US states of New York and Massachusetts. 

In 2013, Gabriela Staber returned to Austria and to CMS, where she became a member of the firm’s IP team and contributed greatly to establishing the lifesciences practice at CMS. Since 1 January 2018, Gabriela Staber (40) is a partner at CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz.
