Turkey Expert Döne Yalçın Has Been Appointed a Partner at CMS in Vienna
Once again, the international law firm has extended its ranks of partners: Döne Yalçın has been appointed a partner at CMS in Vienna. The Turkey expert, who has worked for CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz for ten years, heads the CMS office in Istanbul.
“Döne Yalçin has significantly contributed to the great success of our office in Turkey. As the sole attorney-at-law who is registered in both Austria and Turkey, she greatly contributes to the strong positioning of CMS in what is a commercially truly significant market to us. We are very happy that she is now a partner in our team”, says Peter Huber, Managing Partner of CMS in Vienna.
Döne Yalçın’s (38) professional focus has always been on Turkey: following her legal studies at the University of Vienna’s Faculty of Law, she worked not only for leading law firms in Vienna, but also — thanks to her personal background and bilingual upbringing — for renowned firms in Istanbul. In 2006, she joined CMS Vienna, where she established and headed the Turkish Desk. In this position, she has supported Austrian and other European investors expanding to Turkey as well as Turkish investors wishing to gain a foothold in Austria or other countries of the EU.
In 2013, Döne Yalçın became the head of the newly opened CMS office in Istanbul: owing to the geographical presence of CMS in and the Turkish Desks at four locations outside of Turkey, today Turkish clients can find comprehensive legal support in 40 countries.
The Turkey expert Döne Yalçın, who is specialised in international commercial law, energy law, matters related to international private law as well as trade and corporate law, is also the president of ATIS, the association of Austrian and Turkish entrepreneurs and businesses. She is also the vice-president of both the Austrian-Turkish Economic Forum (ÖTW) and the Austrian-Turkish Business Cooperation Council (ATBCC).
