Christoph Kietaibl earned his venia docendi in labour law, social security law, and civil law at the University of Vienna in 2011, where he was subsequently appointed associate professor. In 2015, he accepted the call to the chair of private law at the University of Klagenfurt.

As of October 2023, he is full professor of labour law and social security law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. His main areas of practice are labour law, civil law, and social security law. He speaks German and English.
