Kai Ruckelshausen has been at CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz since 2013. He studied law at the University of Vienna, where he specialised in company law. He graduated in 2012. He is currently enrolled in a doctorate program at the university. In 2017, he completed an LL.M. programme at Columbia Law School in New York, where he further deepened his expertise in the field of finances. In the course of these studies, he wrote his graduate paper in collaboration with a renowned professor in the field of law and finance theories.
He mainly works in the areas of corporate law, banking and finance, as well as mergers & acquisitions. Kai has already gained extensive experience in the area of banking advice after working in close-co-operation with some of the largest banks in Austria. His speciality in the area of banking and finance is the refinancing and restructuring of loans, acquisitions and project financing. He deals with both national and international projects, with a focus on CEE.
He gained an important insight into business processes during his law studies through his secondment to Siemens and his support for start-ups. In the course of his studies in New York, he volunteered at the Columbia Law and Entrepreneurship Society, acting as LL.M. Director of New Enterprise.
He also demonstrates his interest for law outside CMS through his work with the Vienna Legal Literacy Project, who organise workshops to provide school pupils with basic legal knowledge.
