CMS Belgium strengthens its employment department with the appointment of a new partner

Law firm CMS is pleased to announce that Elke Duden will join CMS as partner, as from 1 May 2018. Elke, a specialist in pensions and employment law, will be based in Antwerp and continue the practice of Jef Degrauwe, who headed the social law team there and will be retiring after a career of more than 40 years.

Tom Heremans, Managing Partner of CMS Belgium "looks forward to working with Elke, given her wide experience in the field of pensions and employment law, with both national and international clients. With her arrival, the Employment and Pensions Department at CMS Belgium based in Brussels and Antwerp, will consist of 13 lawyers, including 3 partners."

Before joining CMS, Elke was Counsel at Linklaters, where over a period of more than 20 years she acquired a considerable reputation in the areas of individual employment and collective labour laws, with a focus on pensions law.

In the international legal directory Chambers and Partners 2018, Elke Duden is “praised as an "excellent pensions lawyer." She is particularly active on pension schemes and incentive plans. One client finds Duden to be "very knowledgeable and well connected." Another interviewee describes her as "intelligent, empathetic and resilient."
