CMS boosts TMC/data protection/Life Sciences team with lateral hire

Brussels – International law firm CMS has announced today the appointment of TMC/data protection/life sciences partner Tom De Cordier who joins the firm from Allen & Overy.

Tom De Cordier has 15 years of experience in advising domestic and multinational clients on all aspects of technology law, with a particular focus on privacy & data protection, telecommunications, outsourcing, cloud computing, big data, life sciences and technology licensing. His practice covers a wide range of advisory, transactional and litigation matters and projects.

Tom was ranked tier 1 in Legal 500’s latest shortlist of leading practitioners in EU data protection. Chambers Europe ranked Tom as “Up and coming” in the category Technology, Media & Telecommunications in Belgium. Corporate International Magazine recently recommended Tom as “rising star of the year in Belgium” for telecommunications law.

Tom De Cordier played a key role at his previous firm in developing the international data protection and information security practice.
