Alexis Laes joined the Brussels Bar in 2010, and specialised within the law firm Olswang in new technology law, regulatory law as well as general EU law, both advising and litigating. By joining CMS in 2017, he continues to develop expertise in his key areas of focus.

Alexis principally deals with regulatory cases involving the national regulatory authorities in charge of electronic communications/telecommunications.

Alexis also deals with free movement cases, principally in the field of e-Commerce and sport.

Furthermore, Alexis regularly intervenes in gambling cases (off-line and on-line) where he counsels Belgian and foreign operators on the specifics of the Belgian legislation and its compatibility with EU law, and represents them before the Gaming Commission (including licence applications and sanctioning proceedings).
