Gabriela Edreva is an expert in Competition & EU law who has advised companies from multiple sectors (e.g. telecommunications, pharmaceuticals & medical devices, retail, food production, energy management) on antitrust related aspects of their everyday business operations, assessment of foreseen amendments of antitrust legislation, assessment of potential antitrust risks in the course of M&A transactions, and merger filings.

As a former clerk for an ECJ judge, Gabriela Edreva has worked, inter alia, on a number of antitrust and state aid cases.

She also has experience within the French Competition Authority.

On 24 Janu­ary 2017, pri­or to its dis­sol­u­tion, the Bul­gari­an Par­lia­ment passed the new Con­ces­sions Act, in­tend­ing to re­peal the cur­rent Con­ces­sions Act 1 and the Pub­lic Private Part­ner­ship Act 2.   However, fol­low­ing com­plaints from the pub­lic – in­clud­ing non-profits.

The new pres­id­ent of the Com­mis­sion for Pro­tec­tion of Com­pet­i­tion (“CPC”), Ms Yulia Nen­kova, an­nounced that the CPC will fo­cus on areas rep­res­ent­ing high con­sumer in­terest. The CPC’s en­force­ment pri­or­it­ies shall cov­er food re­tail­ers, banks and the phar­ma­ceut­ic­al.
