Tatyana is a Junior Associate in the Litigation, Arbitration, Insurance and Employment team. She is part of the Commercial sub-team at CMS Sofia dealing with non-contentions and regulatory matters. She has been helping for the development of the competition and IP law practice ever since she joined CMS in 2016.

Tatyana is an expert on GDPR matters and has considerable experience in complex due diligence reviews of documents regarding the specifics of IP matters, commercial, regulatory and litigious matters.

Prior to joining CMS, Tatyana has gained significant experience in the real estate sector during her work as an Assistant Public Notary.

On 14 June 2019 were pro­mul­gated amend­ments to the Bul­gari­an Copy­right and Neigh­bour­ing Rights Act (CNRA), which al­low the use of auto­mated con­trol tools for identi­fy­ing copy­right in­fringe­ments by the of­fi­cials of the Min­istry of Cul­ture.

Bul­garia im­ple­ments GDPR in­to Per­son­al Data Pro­tec­tion Act
After ex­tens­ive pub­lic con­sulta­tions and dis­cus­sions in par­lia­ment, Bul­gari­an law­makers passed amend­ments to the Per­son­al Data Pro­tec­tion Act, which im­ple­ments the EU­'s Gen­er­al Data Pro­tec­tion Reg­u­la­tion (GDPR) with a few loc­al ex­emp­tions.

Bul­garia ad­opts new Cy­ber Se­cur­ity Act

On 18 Ju­ly 2018, after ex­tens­ive pub­lic con­sulta­tions, the Coun­cil of Min­is­ters sub­mit­ted the bill for amend­ments and sup­ple­ments to the Per­son­al Data Pro­tec­tion Act (“Bill”) to the Bul­gari­an Par­lia­ment for a vote.

On 30 April 2018, the Coun­cil of Min­is­ters launched pub­lic con­sulta­tions for amend­ments and sup­ple­ments to the Per­son­al Data Pro­tec­tion Act (“Bill”). The Bill can be viewed at this link, and out­lines the re­quire­ments for im­ple­ment­a­tion of the Gen­er­al Data.

Amend­ments to the Bul­gari­an Copy­rights Act
On 29 March 2018 were pro­mul­gated amend­ments to the Bul­gari­an Copy­rights and Neigh­bour­ing Rights Act (the Copy­rights Act) so that both non-profit or­gan­isa­tions and com­mer­cial leg­al en­tit­ies are per­mit­ted to con­duct the col­lect­ive man­age­ment of copy­rights.
