CMS in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In 2007, CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz extended its foreign presence and opened an office in Sarajevo. Bosnia-Herzegovina is split into two jurisdictions, each of which has its own constitution, and together with the strong devolution of powers this makes for a quite complicated yet stable and functional legal system. Knowledgeable local lawyers can even use this situation to generate economic advantage for their clients. In addition, the country is constantly working to eliminate investment barriers and adapt its national legal framework to the EU’s acquis communautaire. The local economy needs foreign investors and offers them considerable opportunity for growth and profit.

The political and economic progress of Bosnia-Herzegovina has attracted many investors from Austria, Germany, Croatia, Italy and Russia. As an Austrian law firm, CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz is in a particularly good position to understand the country’s culture and mentality. Our shared legal tradition and our common history enable us to pave the way for our clients to access this growing economy and successfully implement their projects.
