2-stroke ship en­gine joint ven­ture of Wärt­silä with Chinese state com­pany suc­cess­fully closed

Led by partner Oliver Blum, Head of M&A of CMS Switzerland, CMS advised the Finnish global power solutions provider Wärtsilä in the restructuring of its Swiss business so as to separate the development, design and licensing of 2-stroke ship engines, as well as in the subsequent disposal of 70% of the respective Swiss company to China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), which has successfully closed on January 19, 2015.

CMS Switzerland also advised Wärtsilä on all aspects of the structuring of the joint venture.
