Marjolaine Jakob is the head of our insolvency and restructuring team of CMS Zurich.

Her practice focuses on national and international insolvency law and related litigation. She advises clients in connection with insolvency proceedings and represents their interests in related proceedings before the competent courts and authorities. Marjolaine Jakob has broad experience in advising companies in restructuring proceedings. Further, she is a proven specialist in international insolvency law and regularly advises foreign insolvency administrators in cross-border insolvency proceedings.

Further, Marjolaine Jakob represents national and international companies in litigation proceedings before state courts and arbitral tribunals.

Marjolaine Jakob joined our firm as an associate in 2017. Previously, she has worked as a research assistant, specialising in international insolvency law and arbitration at a chair for civil procedure law, private law, international private law and comparative law at the University of Zurich. From 2009 till 2014, Marjolaine has worked first as a trainee and later on as an associate in a business law firm. Marjolaine Jakob has been a partner since 2022.

On 31 October 2023, Renais­sance, to­geth­er with industry expert Daniel Lippuner and the management of Heberlein AG, acquired the entire business operations of Heberlein AG. The acquired business will continue to operate unchanged at its current location in Wattwil with the existing management and all employees under the name Heberlein Technology AG. Heberlein was founded in 1835 and has established itself as a leading provider of nozzles for synthetic continuous yarns worldwide, developing, manufacturing, and distributing key components for the chemical fiber industry, with approximately 80 employees. Renais­sance, based in Lausanne, was founded by pension funds for pension funds and has been investing in unlisted Swiss SMEs for over 20 years.A team from CMS, led by Alain Raemy, provided comprehensive legal and tax advice to Renaissance in this transaction. The leading facility management and workplace experience company ISS has acquired Livit FM Services AG from its previous parent company Livit AG. Livit FM Services AG looks after a large proportion of Swiss Life properties in Switzerland. The company has over 670 employees. The takeover of Livit FM Services AG is a strategic acquisition that strengthens ISS Switzerland's market position. The transaction will enable ISS to expand and develop its service delivery to the real estate industry segment. CMS advised Bruker on the acquisition of Prolab Instruments
Bruker, a NASDAQ-listed technology company in the analytical instrumentation sector, acquires Prolab. Prolab, founded in 1988 and headquartered in Reinach, specialises in high-precision low-flow liquid chromatography technology. In this context, the company focuses primarily on micro- and nano-UHPLC pump technology. The zirconium pump developed by Prolab is already a component of Bruker's high-performance mass spectrometry systems. The acquisition of Prolab provides Bruker with the opportunity to accelerate product innovation. In addition, Prolab's injection technology on the Zirconium Qube Autosampler enables high-precision injections with the smallest sample volumes and minimal sample losses, as well as faster cycle times.
