Acquisition of wind farm in Möthlitz: CMS Hasche Sigle advises EBL (Elektra Baselland)

13/03/2012

Stuttgart – Swiss energy company EBL (Elektra Baselland) has acquired the Möthlitz wind farm in Germany from Ventotec GmbH, a leading German wind farm developer.

A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by lead partner Dr Jochen Lamb advised Liestal-based EBL on all aspects of the transaction from the start.

The Möthlitz wind farm in the Federal State of Brandenburg, located around 100 km west of Berlin, is currently under construction and is expected to enter service at the end of May 2012. The project involves an investment of some EUR 16.5 million, with planned installed capacity of ten MW. The five turbines with a hub height of 105 metres and a rotor diameter of 90 metres will be capable of producing around 21 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity. The total calculated output of the Möthlitz wind farm corresponds to the annual power consumption of approximately 5,000 households.
