Allianz Real Estate advised by CMS on acquisition of core office property Gångaren 11 in Stockholm for around EUR 174 million

25/07/2018

Stuttgart – Allianz Real Estate has acquired the Gångaren 11 office building in Stockholm’s West Kungsholmen district on behalf of several Allianz insurance companies. The vendor is real estate firm AMF Fastigheter. The transaction is worth around EUR 174 million.

A CMS team headed by lead partner John Hammond advised Allianz Real Estate on all legal aspects of expanding its Northern European portfolio of core office properties. CMS regularly advises Allianz on property transactions, most recently on the EUR 500 million deal involving the landmark “THE ICON VIENNA” office project at Vienna’s central railway station.

Gångaren 11 was constructed in 2009. Comprising 30,000 square metres of space, the office building is fully let to Swedish financial services provider Skandia. Kungsholmen is one of Stockholm’s fastest growing inner-city districts, benefiting from a direct connection to the central business district and main station. This transaction is the first property acquisition by Allianz in Sweden for six years. The purchase enables Allianz Real Estate to expand its presence in the Swedish market.
