CMS Hasche Sigle advises Brüggemann on transaction with the Federal Monopoly Administration for Spirits

26/03/2012

Stuttgart – BrüggemannAlcohol Wittenberg GmbH has acquired a facility in Wittenberg from the German Federal Monopoly Administration for Spirits (BfB). BrüggemannAlcohol is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Heilbronn-based ethanol producer L. Brüggemann, KG.
A team led by lead partner and M&A expert Dr Peter Baisch advised Brüggemann on all aspects of the transaction.
Brüggemann is a global chemicals and ethanol company, offering solutions for every alcohol-related application. Headquartered in Offenbach, the German Federal Monopoly Administration for Spirits is a top-level federal authority within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Finance. EU law requires it to discontinue the monopoly on spirits, with the result that it must sell or close all of its facilities.
