CMS Hasche Sigle advises EADS/CASSIDIAN on establishing SIGNALIS joint venture

15/02/2011

Hamburg – CASSIDIAN (formerly EADS Defence & Security) and ATLAS ELEKTRONIK have merged their Sofrelog and ATLAS Maritime Security subsidiaries to create a new company called SIGNALIS.

A team led by partner Dr Ludwig Linder advised EADS/CASSIDIAN on all aspects of the transaction.

In business since January, the new company will operate worldwide with its products, which range from small-scale shipping monitoring systems (Vessel Traffic Service, VTS) to powerful coastal surveillance systems (CSS). SIGNALIS has a workforce of around 200 experts in maritime monitoring in Germany and France and serves an extensive customer base in some 50 countries.

CASSIDIAN, an EADS group company, is one of the world's largest suppliers of global security systems.

The ATLAS ELEKTRONIK Group supplies maritime and naval systems for above and below the ocean surface; the company has a leading position in many areas of maritime high technology.
