CMS Hasche Sigle advises International Process and Packaging Technologies GmbH

Frankfurt/Main – In a transaction conducted via a subsidiary, International Process and Packaging Technologies GmbH (IPPT) has acquired all the shares in IMA Kilian GmbH & Co KG (KILIAN) from I.M.A. Industria Macchine Automatiche S.p.A., a listed company headquartered in Bologna, Italy. The value of the transaction is around EUR 30 million. The deal is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities.

A team led by lead partner Dr Hendrik Hirsch advised IPPT on all aspects of the transaction.

At its Cologne site, KILIAN produces tablet press machinery for the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. Around 150 employees generated annual sales of some EUR 45 million in 2012. IPPT heads the Romaco Group, a Deutsche Beteiligungs AG portfolio company with operations in Germany, Switzerland and Italy. The Romaco Group is a leading specialist supplier of packaging and processing technology for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and chemical industries. The product range of the end-to-end supplier comprises primary and secondary packaging, equipment for filling sterile liquids and powders into containers, process technology and wet grinding. More than 50,000 Romaco machines are currently in use in around 180 countries. The Romaco Group generated sales of EUR 109 million in the 2012 financial year.
