CMS Hasche Sigle advises capiton on acquisition of stake in Kautex

01/02/2013

Berlin – capiton has acquired the Kautex Maschinenbau Group in conjunction with the management team, which will hold a majority stake. The group was previously majority owned by private equity investor Steadfast Capital. Kautex Maschinenbau is a leading manufacturer of extrusion blow moulding machines for the production of plastic containers for the automotive sector (e.g. fuel tanks), packaging and special applications. The purchase price was not disclosed.

A team led by Berlin-based corporate law partner Ralf Kurney advised capiton on all legal aspects of this complex MBO transaction. The transaction is being financed via the capiton IV fund and through bank loans. The loans are being provided by the banks that have funded the Kautex Maschinenbau Group in the past.

capiton is an independent owner-managed private equity firm that supports established SMEs as an equity capital partner. The firm is a longstanding CMS Hasche Sigle client.
