CMS Hasche Sigle advises voestalpine on interest in automotive suppliers

21/12/2006

voestalpine AG, which is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange, was advised by CMS Hasche Sigle on the acquisition of a majority interest in Gutbrod Stanz- und Umformtechnik GmbH in Germany, Hügel GmbH & Co. KG in Germany and AMSTUTZ-LEVIN & Cie in France. With this investment voestalpine AG further expands its automotive supply activities. In 2006 the three new acquisitions, which currently employ 1,100 people, will generate positive results with an aggregate annual turnover of around EUR 210 million. Stuttgart partner Dr Thomas Meyding led the transaction for voestalpine AG with fellow Stuttgart partner Dr Claus-Peter Fabian.

The due diligence work was carried out in close collaboration with Alexandra Rohmert and other lawyers from CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre in Paris.

The three companies have a total of six production locations, four in Germany and two in France. They specialise in pressing and assembling structural components for bodywork applications.

For the voestalpine group the acquisition represents further extension of the added value chain.
