CMS Hasche Sigle again advises Asian Bamboo AG on capital increase

23/06/2010

Hamburg – Asian Bamboo AG has successfully placed 1,400,000 shares with selected investors as part of a capital increase. The gross proceeds of the issue amounted to around EUR 43.4 million. The new funds are earmarked primarily for leasing additional plantations. The main shareholder, Green Resources, also sold a further 1,000,000 Asian Bamboo shares from its own holdings to investors.

A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by Dr Henrik Drinkuth has been providing comprehensive ongoing advice to Asian Bamboo AG since the company's IPO two years ago.

CMS Hasche Sigle holds a leading position among German law firms with regard to supporting Chinese companies seeking to list on Deutsche Börse. The firm worked on Asian Bamboo’s flotation in November 2007 as issuer's counsel and previously advised ZhongDe Waste Technology AG on its IPO in July 2007. Since then, CMS Hasche Sigle has advised on the IPOs of Vtion Wireless Technology AG in October 2009 and Joyou AG in March 2010, led by Frankfurt partners Dr Andreas Zanner and Philipp Melzer. The new Asian Bamboo shares are being offered to institutional investors in a private placement, subject to exclusion of the right of pre-emption. The final scope of the capital increase and the issue price will be determined through accelerated bookbuilding.
