CMS advises Bechtle on expansion of managed services operations

26/04/2019

Stuttgart – A team from law firm CMS Germany headed by Dr Harald Kahlenberg advised Bechtle AG on all merger control aspects of the recent expansion of its partnership with IBM. Under the terms of the agreement, Bechtle Onsite Services GmbH will provide infrastructure services on behalf of IBM Germany. The deal involved the transfer of 320 employees from IBM to Bechtle and represents a further step in the expansion of Bechtle’s managed services operations.

Bechtle holds over 19,000 managed service contracts and provides support for more than a million IT workstations at SME customers, corporate groups and public-sector bodies. The employees transferred from IBM work on site at various customers or at IBM locations in Germany, providing services around design, consulting and operation of applications and data centre services.

Bechtle AG operates around 70 IT system integrator businesses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With e-commerce companies in 14 countries, the Neckarsulm-based group is one of Europe’s leading IT resellers. It currently has more than 10,000 employees. Bechtle is listed on the MDAX and TecDAX.
