CMS advises Schaeffler on acquisition of autinity systems GmbH

Frankfurt – The Schaeffler Group has acquired Chemnitz-based software firm autinity systems GmbH, which specialises in the digital collection and analysis of machine data in real-time. This acquisition allows Schaeffler to strengthen its data capture and status monitoring capability as key elements of computer-aided production. The move highlights Schaeffler’s ongoing pursuit of its digital agenda.

A team headed by lead partner Dr Hendrik Hirsch advised Schaeffler on all legal aspects of this transaction in the field of Smart Factory/Industry 4.0. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The Schaeffler Group is a global automotive and industrial supplier. Headquartered in Herzogenaurach and Schweinfurt, it specialises in precision components for a wide range of industrial applications. In 2016, the technology company generated sales of around EUR 13.3 billion. Some 87,900 employees make Schaeffler one of the world’s largest family-owned companies. With around 170 locations in more than 50 countries, it has a global network of production sites, research and development facilities and sales companies.

Chemnitz-based autinity systems GmbH develops software for automatic data collection, processing, storage and delivery, specialising in the optimisation of work processes in manufacturing industry.
