CMS advises capiton on the sale of its shares in Kautex Maschinenbau Gruppe

Berlin – capiton IV GmbH & Co. Beteiligungs KG sells its shares in Kautex Holding GmbH based in Bonn (Germany) to Plastech Beteiligungs GmbH based in Vienna (Austria). The purchaser is an independent industry holding, focusing on investments in the plastic materials sector. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The closing of the transaction is still subject to the approval by the antitrust authorities.

An international team of CMS lawyers has advised capiton on all legal aspects of this transaction. In 2013, the Berlin Corporate Partner Ralf Kurney and his team had already advised capiton on the acquisition of a stake in Kautex Maschinenbau Gruppe and have provided ongoing legal advice to capiton with regard to the Kautex group since then.

Kautex Maschinenbau is one of the leading global producers of extrusion blow molding machines used for the production of hollow plastic articles for technical parts and packaging. International customers include in particular major automotive manufacturers and suppliers, as well as companies working in the packaging industry. Kautex has production facilities in Germany and China as well as a sales and services network with branches in the USA, Russia, Italy, India and Mexico.

In 2017, Kautex generated sales of more than EUR 140 million and employs approximately 700 employees worldwide.
