CMS advises nextmarkets on investment by Peter Thiel, Founders Fund, Finlab AG and EXTOREL

22/07/2016

Cologne – Fintech startup nextmarkets has raised EUR 3.5 million from prominent backers in a high-profile Series A round of financing. Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and the first external investor in Facebook, has joined Founders Fund of San Francisco, Finlab AG and EXTOREL (Strascheg) in supporting the e-learning platform. Established in Cologne in 2014, nextmarkets is the developer of a learning and coaching platform for securities trading, focusing especially on equities.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Malte Bruhns advised nextmarkets on the legal aspects of the financing round. The CMS lawyer has been providing the founders of nextmarkets with comprehensive legal advice on their business operations for almost 10 years, including assisting with the establishment, development and successful exit from ayondo, an online trading platform.
