CMS advises on sale of Alfahosting to European Directories

23/10/2017

Leipzig – European Directories, a Triton Fund III company, has acquired Web hosting firm Alfahosting GmbH through its majority interest in dogado GmbH.

A CMS team headed by M&A lawyers Dr Jörg Lips and Dr Juliane Voigtmann advised the seller on all legal aspects of the transaction. Also in the IT space, the team recently advised on the sale of N3K Network Systems to VR Equitypartner and the sale of e-filing market leader PDV Systeme to Aheim Capital.

Alfahosting GmbH is a full-service provider. In addition to conventional Web hosting, it offers servers, SSL certificates, e-commerce and do-it-yourself solutions such as website toolkits, domain registration and cloud products. With more than 200,000 customer contracts, Alfahosting is one of the leading Web hosting companies in Germany.

Dortmund-based dogado GmbH provides IT services for companies with Web-based business models – from simple Web hosting through collaboration services to cloud platforms. The firm is owned by the private equity arm of European Directories Holdings GmbH, which is in turn a portfolio company of PE player Triton. Triton describes itself as a stakeholder in 31 companies at present, with total sales exceeding EUR 14.5 billion.
