CMS relocating to new office in Theodor-Heuss-Straße, Stuttgart, in 2020

26/09/2017

Stuttgart – CMS Hasche Sigle has signed the lease for its new office building in Stuttgart. The commercial law firm is due to move into a planned new build on Rotebühlplatz in Theodor- Heuss-Straße in December 2020. The existing building complex on the site, which is adjacent to the Calwer Passage shopping arcade, will be demolished, with CMS then occupying a state-of-the-art new build. The heritage-listed Calwer Passage will be retained as part of the development. The landlord of the new property will be a Ferdinand Piëch Holding Group company. Demolition of the existing buildings and construction of the new complex is scheduled for 2018, once planning permission has been granted.

More than 300 employees, including around 120 CMS lawyers and tax advisers, will operate out of the state-of-the-art offices, which offer over 10,000 square metres of space, serving both German and international clients. CMS has had a presence in Stuttgart since 1962. The firm is now a leading player and one of the largest law firms in Germany and Europe.

Commenting on the planned move, CMS managing partner Dr Hubertus Kolster said: “In moving to this central location, we are delighted to be extending and strengthening our longstanding ties with Stuttgart. CMS is on a ground-breaking growth trajectory across Germany and also keen to continue pursuing this successful course in such a strategically important location as Stuttgart.”

Dr Barbara Wössner, managing partner at CMS Stuttgart, said: “The planned office building in Theodor-Heuss-Straße is an attractive property with a prime location in central Stuttgart. It will enable CMS to provide a prominent and attractive work environment for its employees and clients. We are delighted to be able to deliver this pioneering landmark building in conjunction with highly regarded developer Ferdinand Piëch Holding GmbH.”
