Insight into our Training Session in Cambodia

October 2016

The rise in regional investment treaties and expropriation processes in South East Asia has prompted the local bar associations to seek training in investment protection. The Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia, where foreign direct investment has reached new heights, partnered with the CMS office in Hong Kong to deliver training in investor-state arbitration and, more generally, in investment protection to locally qualified lawyers.

The President of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia spoke on investment protection mechanisms and their importance in South East Asia. Over 80 lawyers admitted to the Cambodian Bar attended the training session delivered by Olga Boltenko, CMS Hong Kong. The training session was the first event of its kind in Phnom Penh.
