Berlin – CMS Hasche Sigle, one of Germany’s leading commercial law firms, has again been recognised as Law Firm of the Year for Energy. The highly regarded accolade of Law Firm of the Year in a specific area of law is awarded annually by JUVE, the industry magazine for commercial lawyers, which selects firms with outstanding achievements in the respective field during the year. The winners are chosen on the basis of research carried out for the JUVE Handbook.

The reasons cited in the new JUVE Handbook for recognising CMS include the firm’s well-established strengths in energy law and ability to leverage them in the current market environment – such as in the offshore segment. The Handbook’s editors describe CMS as very well positioned to meet the new thematic requirements of the market, noting that the CMS team had expanded in recent years partly through experienced lateral hires and that stronger links had also been forged within the firm. All of these moves had also helped to make the firm a highly sought-after advisor on important regulatory issues. The JUVE editors highlighted the breadth of expertise within the team and associated ability to develop new and innovative areas, such as electric mobility.
