Hamburg – Solar Infrastructure Holding S.à.r.l. has acquired a solar park constructed by WIRSOL Solar AG on a former military airfield in Luckau, in the Federal State of Brandenburg. The Luckau solar park with total nominal capacity of around 21 megawatts peak (MWp) has been connected to the grid since the end of 2011 and was officially opened on 11 January 2012.
A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by Dr Niklas Ganssauge advised WIRSOL Solar AG on acquisition of the project rights, development of the project, obtaining external finance and finally selling the Luckau solar park to Solar Infrastructure Holding S.à.r.l. CMS Hasche Sigle has been advising project developers, manufacturers, investors and banks on German and international projects in the renewable energy field for over ten years.
Legal support for Solar Infrastructure Holding S.à.r.l. on the acquisition of solar projects has been provided by WKN since 2011, with Dr Isabella Niklas in the lead role. Established in 2008, law firm WKN is a spin-off of Pricewaterhouse Coopers Legal AG. The Hamburg-based firm specialises in the renewable energy sector and advises investors, banks and project developers on the acquisition, financing and development of wind, solar and biomass projects throughout Europe.
