Laura Dereje (née Schierbaum) specialises in new media, online platforms and digital business models as well as future technologies. She advises German and international companies in a variety of sectors, including e-commerce, IT, social media, media, insurance, finance as well as consumer goods, and also represents them in court. She has special expertise in online advertising, online data protection, e-commerce, e-payments and IT compliance as well as all general aspects of media law.

In the course of her legal education she worked, inter alia, at media, IP and copyright practice groups of renowned international law firms, at a public radio and television broadcaster and an international organisation. While completing her PhD, she also worked as a research assistant at the University of Cologne’s Institute for Constitutional Law and a renowned law firm in Bonn.

Laura joined CMS in 2018.
