Martin Kolbinger advises on national and international corporate transactions and joint ventures. He also assists clients on restructuring processes, e.g. in the context of post-merger integration, and provides advice on day-to-day corporate matters, for example when it comes to implementing cash pooling systems.

Martin joined CMS in 2004 and became a partner in 2011. Prior to working as a lawyer, he was a research assistant at the University of Passau. In 2009/2010, Martin was seconded to leading Korean law firm Bae, Kim & Lee (Seoul) as a Foreign Legal Consultant. Martin used to be a lecturer for commercial law at Munich Business School and currently is a lecturer for corporate law at the University of Passau.

  • Advising Burger King Corp. on the sale of its restaurants in Germany (about 100) as well as on establishing a master franchisee

  • Advising Holtzbrinck Publishing Group on setting up a joint venture for the company’s science and education publishing arm with Springer Science+Business Media

  • Advising listed US company Jason Inc. on the acquisition of Dronco GmbH, a cut-off and grinding wheels manufacturer with sites in four European countries

  • Advising Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) on setting up a technology joint venture with Uhde GmbH (ThyssenKrupp subsidiary)

  • Advising Krones AG on the acquisition of a majority stake in Till GmbH, a printing technology company

  • Advising Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG on the acquisition of E-Plus KPN (transaction volume of about EUR 8 billion)
