Blanca heads the Digital and Data group at CMS Spain. She has practiced law for more than 20 years in international firms, advising clients operating in the telecommunications, technology and media sectors. She provides advice on commercial, regulatory and litigation matters to different agents across the entire communications value chain, from content producers to network providers, including applications, software, websites, service providers, distributors and manufacturers. Blanca has experience working in an international environment and on multijurisdictional matters, normally with a pan-European and/or Latin-American dimension.
Currently, Blanca is focused on advising clients on their digitalisation and adaptation to industry 4.0, as well as complying with the new EU General Data Protection Regulation.
She has been named as a leading individual in Communications and TMC by the legal directories Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Who's Who Legal and Media Law International.
In the Technology industry, Blanca has vast experience in internet and e-commerce matters, as well as in negotiating and drafting sophisticated agreements such as outsourcing, software licenses, applications development, data centers, cloud computing and adTech. She has dealt with complex privacy issues that arise from the provision of new services such as cutting edge electronic payment platforms, the Internet of things (IoT), cloud computing, connected cars and digital health.
In the Media and Entertainment sector, Blanca has particular experience of issues relating to the development, licensing and distribution of digital content. She represents clients before the Spanish regulator and courts. She has advised film makers and other content producers, TV and radio broadcasters, platforms, social media companies and content distributors providing services through different and emerging technologies.
In the Telecommunications field, Blanca has acted for fixed (wired, wireless, satellite, terrestrial) and mobile (network and virtual) operators in matters such as interoperability, interconnection, network sharing, service and network/spectrum licenses, ex ante market reviews and pricing issues (e.g. margin squeeze, bundling). She has advised public and private operators in the deployment of NGA networks, MVNOs, M2M/IoT and OTT services.
