MEJI Award
Our law firm organises the award for the top real-estate law student
The MEJI Award recognises the top three real-estate law students studying for a Master’s degree. It is awarded annually following a competition judged by a panel of professional real-estate lawyers.
The MEJI Award is organised jointly by Juridim, Michelez Notaires and our law firm. It is open to all students studying for a Master's in real-estate law or a Master's in Notarial law. This year's sponsor will be Antoine Frey, Chairman and CEO of Frey and Chairman of the CNCC (National Council of Shopping Centres).
The winner receives €4,000 and the offer of a six-month paid internship at CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats, in the legal department of a Juridim member-company or in the firm Michelez Notaires, along with a subscription to Business lmmo and LexisNexis publications.
The runner-up receives €2,000, a subscription to Business lmmo and LexisNexis publications.
Third place receives €1,000, a subscription to Business lmmo and LexisNexis publications.
Stages of the competition
First stage: the academic director of each Master’s Degree programme selects a maximum of six students from their Master's course to take part. The deadline for the pre-selection stage is Friday, 1March 2019.
Second stage: the selected candidates are invited to take part in a written test on current topics in real-estate law (students are given a choice between one public law topic and one private law). The candidate’s answer must be a maximum of four pages (10,000 characters including spaces). The test will be held remotely on Saturday, 16 March 2019.
Third stage: following selection by the judges, the top candidates (maximum of eight) will be interviewed in person on 11 April 2019 in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
Prize-giving
The award will be presented at a ceremony attended by academics and professionals from the Parisian real-estate sector on Thursday 11 April 2019 in the presence of the sponsor Antoine Frey.
For this 2019 edition, the judges from our law firm will be Florence Chérel, Aline Divo and Jean-Luc Tixier, associate lawyers.
From left: the sponsor Meka Brunel, Léa Cuzzucoli (3rdprize), Adeline Verbraeken (1st prize) and Blanche de Mecheri (2nd prize).
