Bruno Gibert elevated to the rank of Officier de l’Ordre National du Mérite

Bruno Gibert, CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre partner, has been elevated to the rank of «Officier de l’Ordre National du Mérite» [Officer of the National Order of Merit] by decree of the President of the Republic dated 16 May 2008, published at Journal Officiel of 17 May 2008.

Holder of a Master of Business and Tax Law (University Paris II), qualified from the Political Science Institute of Paris in 1979, Bruno Gibert was appointed as a civil administrator (= civil servant) to the Economy, Finance and Budget Ministry just after the Administration National School - E.N.A. [College for senior civil servants] (1985) where he was in charge of the Department of International Tax Relations (1988-1990), then of the Corporation Tax one (1992-1993).

As official representative to the Director of National Credit (Crédit National) (1990-1992), he was promoted to the post of technical adviser, in charge of tax matters, to the Cabinet of Nicolas Sarkozy, Budget Minister (1993-1995). Sub-director of the International Relations at the Tax Legislation Direction within the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry (1995-2001), he afterwards joined as a partner the CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Law firm in 2001.

Bruno Gibert has been appointed President of the European Union Forum on Transfer Pricing and Corporation Tax in 2002. He too is President of the Scientific Committee of the French Branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA).

Since 2005, Bruno Gibert is Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur [Knight of the Legion of Honour]
