CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre strengthens its legal practice in energy law

Christophe Barthélemy is a graduate of the Institute for Political Science (IEP - Paris) and of Paris II - University [3-year-law degree], he is holder of a DEA [university post-graduate research degree] in political science (1983- Paris II) and a DEA of business public law (Paris X - 2005). After his higher education at the National School of Administration [ENA] as a civil servant-trainee at the City of Paris (1986-1988), he commenced his career at the City of Paris (1988-1993) of whom he headed the legal department, before becoming rapporteur to the State Council [Conseil d'Etat] for mobility (1993-1995), then a technical adviser in charge of legal matters to several ministers.

Afterwards he joined the business area as an official representative to the company secretary of Thomson-CSF Group, become Thales (1998-1999).

Then he created the legal department of EDF which he headed until the end of 2004, while undertaking in 2003 the post of company secretary. Since 2005, he was lawyer at Bird & Bird law firm, specialised in public law and energy law in France and in Europe. Editor of numerous articles on energy issues, published in legal reviews and economics press, he has been taking part for 2006 to the European Observatory of Energy Markets organized by Capgemini.

He lectures at University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and is a member of the Centre for Study and Research on economics public law, affiliated to the Tunc Institute.
