CMS advises AXA on the sale of its Hungarian banking operations to OTP Bank Plc

CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre and CMS Cameron McKenna LLP advised AXA on the conclusion of an agreement with OTP Bank Plc to sell its banking activities in Hungary run through the Hungarian branch of AXA Bank Europe.

Completion of the transaction is subject to obtaining the relevant regulatory authorizations and should be finalized during the second semester 2016.

AXA was advised on the transaction by CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre with Jean-Robert Bousquet (partner) and Emmanuelle Brunel covering corporate aspects and Edouard Milhac (partner) covering tax aspects, in collaboration with CMS Cameron McKenna LLP in Hungary with Iván Sefer (partner) and Sándor Kovács covering banking and regulatory aspects, Zoltán Poronyi, corporate aspects and Eszter Kálmán tax aspects.
