18/05/2018

After having advised Mersen in its recent acquisition of a majority stake in the company Caly Technologies, CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats advised Mersen in the acquisition of Idealec from its executives and investment funds.

Idealec, created in 2005 and based in Pontarlier and Shanghai, is renowned in the design and manufacture of laminated bus bars. This operation enables Mersen's Electrical Power division to consolidate its position as a major player on the laminated bus bar market and expand its client portfolio, in particular with customers in the railroad and energy sectors. It strengthens Mersen's position as one of the leading partners worldwide for power electronics.

Mersen, a global expert in electrical power and advanced materials, has been designing innovative solutions for more than 100 years to optimise its clients’ industrial performance in energy, transport, electronics, chemicals/pharmaceuticals and process industries. The group is present in 35 countries and on every continent. Today, Mersen has 6,400 workers at 50 industrial sites and 15 research and development centres.

For this transaction, Mersen was advised by CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats with Alexandre Delhaye, partner, Célia Mayran, associate and Noëlle Boualem, legal advisor, on the Corporate/Fusions & acquisitions aspects.

The sellers were advised by the firm Colbert Avocats (Lyon) with Catherine Couriol, partner, and Béatrice Ponceblanc-Courtadon, legal advisor.
