"I work on pitches and tenders across all sectors of CMS, which means I have a comprehensive understanding of the full range of world-class teams and recognised industry-leaders we have here. I’m currently involved with five different tenders, and one of those is a truly pan-CMS international project. It’s meant working with outstanding colleagues in Mexico, Russia, Germany and China. There’s a consummate expertise evident in every team I work with, and that high calibre has definitely helped strengthen our new business record.
I actually live in Birmingham, which is about a two hour commute from our central London offices. I don’t have to travel every day, because my job gives me the flexibility to work from home, workflow and workload permitting. CMS is very progressive in that sense. We don’t focus on ‘presentee-ism’ and face-time in the office: it’s about output, and the production of innovative work and good thinking.
I think the sort of people who thrive and do well at CMS are flexible too. They can adapt to change, and they work well under pressure. At the same time, they don’t take themselves too seriously; there’s no grandstanding or bluster. They get on and get stuff done, and they know what they’re doing.
For me, what’s important is to work with interesting people, on interesting projects, and have a bit of fun in the process, and I get all that here at CMS."
