The launch of this major new report from CMS will examine the intergenerational impact of an ageing population on our future financial lives looking forward to 2040. This new research shares the findings from a survey of 2000 consumers, 200 business managers from financial institutions and interviews with a range of financial services senior leaders. It will provide insight into consumer perceptions of how they expect to cope with these changes, and how the financial services industry is seeking to respond to these challenges at a time when the FCA is focusing debate on these issues and scrutinising the industry’s response.

In addition to a presentation of the findings of the report from Elisabeth Bremner and Alison McHaffie, financial regulatory partners here at CMS, we will be joined by a high calibre panel to discuss the issues, including:

  • John Godfrey, Corporate Affairs Director, Legal & General
  • Johnny Timpson, Financial Protection Technical & Industry Affairs Manager, Scottish Widows
  • Jane Vass, Director of Policy & Research, Age UK
  • Mark Twigg, Director, Cicero
