Join us as we take a look at the current challenges and next steps for Scotland’s traditional high streets. Our panel will discuss the rejuvenation of town centres in a fast-changing social, political and digital landscape, looking at how the planning system can be an enabler, the role technology will play, and how local communities have the potential to reshape and regenerate their high streets.

Phil Prentice, Chief Officer, Scotland's Towns Partnership

Phil has over 25 years economic development experience across both the public and private sectors – his role as Chief Officer of Scotland's Towns Partnership is to drive sustainable change through collaboration and partnership. Towns and their future are clearly back on the political agenda and the work of Scotland’s Towns Partnership in helping to deliver the Scottish Government’s Town Centre Action Plan has brought about a step change in thinking and tangible progress.

Mark McMurray, Senior Associate, CMS

Mark is a Senior Associate in the Planning team in Scotland. He has considerable experience in helping clients in the public and private sectors to negotiate the complex planning, compulsory purchase and other statutory processes associated with town centre development and regeneration.

Duncan Turner, Partner, CMS

Duncan specialises in information technology, intellectual property, data protection and commercial contracts. He regularly advises clients on how to source technological solutions, as well as how they can make the most of data in their business.
