We are delighted to invite you to the launch of the 2017 edition of the Infrastructure Index: A New Directionat our office in Sheffield.

The past 12 months have seen significant political, economic and environmental changes in the UK. In the North of England the delivery of infrastructure is a key enabler and requirement for economic growth.

The event will look at the much needed infrastructure investment required in the North and the importance of government backing and private sector investment in order to take our infrastructure plans forward.

We will be joined by a panel of infrastructure experts who will share their opinions and views on the future of infrastructure in the North:

  • John Cridland, Chair of Transport for the North
  • John Mothersole, Chief Executive at Sheffield City Council
  • Dr Louise Brooke-Smith, Partner at Arcadis and RICS Past Global President

The CMS Infrastructure Index presents the top 40 countries in order of investment attractiveness and highlights likely future trends across the sector. We will consider emerging markets, new asset classes for infrastructure investment and what the future holds for UK infrastructure.

The event will also coincide with the publication of the National Infrastructure Commission's interim report on its first National Infrastructure Assessment (NIA), to be delivered each parliament.
