Webinar: The gig economy: disrupting the disrupters?

Employment lunchtime online Spring series

Past event
30 March 2017, 13:15 - 14:00 UTC +00:00

This webinar looks at the gig economy and the changing world of working patterns. While organisations seek to maximise flexibility and reduce costs, tensions can arise where employees want job security and fixed hours. The challenge for employers is understanding how the law fits in with the commercial arrangements they want to implement.

This webinar will discuss the evolving nature of legal status in the context of the Uber, Pimlico Plumbers and Citysprint cases which have disrupted the gig economy. We will also consider the wider changes taking place around the government backed Taylor review into working patterns and what the future holds. This session will be of interest to all employers including those who employ staff on zero hours contracts and use atypical working arrangements.
