CMS wins two trophies at Mergermarket Europe M&A Awards

CMS was named “CEE M&A Legal Adviser of the Year” at the Mergermarket Europe M&A Awards held in London on 6 December 2018.

The prizes recognise excellence in M&A advisory work and are open to all law firms and financial advisers active across Europe. The judging process is rigorous and includes analysis of M&A league table data to identify the top-ranked firms.

CMS was awarded the title following a year of landmark M&A matters, including:

• Advising Advent International on its €1.9bn acquisition of Zentiva - the largest life sciences transaction of 2018 in CEE; and
• Advising Liberty Global on the Czech, Hungarian and Romanian aspects of the €18.4 billion sale of its European assets to Vodafone – the region’s largest telco transaction in over a decade.

CMS was also named “Germany M&A Legal Adviser of the Year” at the ceremony, as well as being shortlisted for “UK M&A Legal Adviser of the Year”.

The firm has more than 1000 corporate/M&A lawyers internationally and is regularly ranked top in Europe by Bloomberg, Mergermarket and Thomson Reuters League Tables by number of transactions.
